Protein Data Bank Tutorial

1.  Enter a Keyword into the Search Field and either click "search" or press enter.  We'll use "lipase," an enzyme that breaks down fats.  (You can also search by PDB ID or Author).

 

2.  Notice the PDB ID to the left of each file.  These can be typed directly into the search query.  For now, click an ID of interest.

 

3.  Now Click "Download File." 

 

4.  Choose "PDB File."  Save to the location of your choice.  The .pdb can be read by both SwissPDB and ArgusLab.  Now you're ready to use SwissPDB or ArgusLab!
